Kristi Steinhilber

Staff Meteorologist

Ms. Steinhilber is a Staff Meteorologist at Applied Weather Associates. She has been directly involved in several technical aspects of PMP development, storm analyses, and climate change projections. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology accompanied by a Minor in Mathematics from the University of Northern Colorado in 2007. Prior to joining AWA, Ms. Steinhilber worked as a Meteorological Software Engineer and Documentation Manager for IPS Meteostar. In this role, she tested LEADS® (Leading Environmental Analysis & Display System), a proprietary, customizable software. This included performing tests of each phase of the software development cycle, tracking, and documenting deficiencies. Quality assurance testing throughout the entire process of the baseline software helped advance LEADS® into an operational toolkit using numerical models and multiple data feeds, including radar, satellite, lightening, water quality sensors, and more. Ms. Steinhilber also wrote, reviewed, and edited the LEADS® meteorological software user manuals for multiple aviation, environmental, and military clients. She was a broadcast team member for Your Weather Network, where she compiled, wrote, and recorded hourly commentaries for regional, national, international, and tropical weather clients. Ms. Steinhilber added to her skillset by working at GEI Consultants, Inc. (GEI), an engineering and environmental consulting firm, as a Marketing Assistant
