AWA has developed site-specific, statewide, regional precipitation frequency data sets. The process follows a similar analysis method as NOAA Atlas 14 but extends beyond PMP. This allows for understanding of rainfall accumulation far beyond the 1000-year limitation in NOAA Atlas 14. These data sets are provided on a gridded basis and utilized site-specific/storm specific Area Reduction Factor information that to provide depths from the point area size through the area size of the overall region of concern. Recent examples include the state of Wyoming and Texas, the large region encompassing the northern Chile, to several site-specific mining watersheds in Arizona and New Mexico.
Texas Regional Precipitation Frequency Climatology 6-hour 100-Year Recurrence Interval
Wyoming Statewide Precipitation Frequency Climatology 24-hour 100-Year Recurrence Interval
Annual Exceedance Probability for the Hurricane Harvey Rainfall for the 24-Hour Duration
